Cheesecake to Remind Us of the Giving of the Torah
Cheesecake has become a traditional food for Shavuot as a reminder that when the Torah was given we were told we would have milk and honey under our tongues.
After the success of the Chanukah menorah project, Shavuot cheesecakes were the perfect idea for our next project. This time, the cheesecakes were funded by donations by neighbors helping neighbors. The happiness that we saw on the faces of the 100 recipients made every bit of energy spent on this project worthwhile.
As with all of our projects, we wouldn't be able to do it without the help of our volunteers and the financial support of the community at large.
